Position Overview:
Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the production facility.
All plant-based personnel report through this position.
General areas of responsibilities include production, safety and health, shipping and receiving and plant maintenance.
While striving for a zero-incident culture, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and spare parts management of pelleting, packaging, and rolling equipment.
Ensures a safe and clean workplace.
Enforces and holds team(s) accountable to safety, environmental and health standards, and practices.
Supports employee training and development in the work.
Through alignment of support, build the success of the team through achieving business results.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of all major departments, including production, machinery, and processing, within company guidelines.
Responsible to prioritize and prepare production schedules and communicate production goals to the appropriate departments, Must be able to analyze equipment efficiency, materials supply, and coordinate workforce requirements.
Responsible for maintaining quality control of product and co-manage the flow of incoming raw materials/consumables.
Responsible for effectively managing, training and supervising department managers, shift leads and production personnel.
Responsible to create, maintain, and accurately convey production and inventory reports to appropriate members of management and sales department on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for daily maintenance planning, scheduling, overseeing/participating in all maintenance projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Physical Requirements 5
years of related supervisory experience, preferably in the forest products manufacturing industry.
Must have a roll up your sleeves approach, be highly analytical and forward thinking.
This is a day-to-day operating role but also one that requires resourcefulness, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership and motivational skills.
Requires a high degree of technical and analytical skills.
Requires the ability to do simple to complex math calculations.
Must be able to work in an elevated temperature/ humidity area.
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Management or related field a plus.
